Supposedly it's built using the qt toolkit:

I'm pretty impressed with this. Works very fast with OpenGL on my Nvidia MX440 card.

Not for me on my GeForce 6200. Look:

(yes that is supposed to be Africa...I think)
Maybe its that fact that I am running bleeding edge software or AMD64. Whatever I wouldn't really use it much if at all, but it's nice to know Google cares

It's unfortunate that it doesn't work well with an AMD64 based system. Hopefully they work out the bugs soon.

It won't work on PPC either.

I have it running on Gentoo AMD64 using a Geforce 6600 and it runs great. I'm using mostly stable versions of everything.
Although my work computer I can't get the 3D working with an ATI on Google Earth.

Works pretty well under Mandriva 2006, too.

I have it running on a Radeon Mobility X300 with Ubuntu, and it works great. I also have it on a GeForce 6200 under Gentoo, and it runs flawlessly as well. Nice work Google, here's to PPC, and AMD64 versions in the near future.

I get a link telling me to upgrade flash, which I can't do, an another link telling me to download theora, which I have already done.
EDIT: nevermind - the link to download ogg-theora is actually the link to download the file in .ogg format. Poorly worded at best.

Of course it works on Arch with a Nvidia 6600gt. Really sweet - good on google for doing the linux community up.
