iPig secure connection software

A mate asked about this and to be honest, I have never heard of it. Its like SSH tunnelling I am guessing. Seems only Windows based so far.

Who here uses something like this and why ? I would imagine anything important you would want to send would be sent through a SSL connection ? How much of daily traffic is that important ?

Besides SSH tunnelling, is there a way to do this on an internet Gateway (Linux of course) for all data ? Does Snort handle this type of task ?

I use something similar, it's called Hamachi and is cross platform, yes, it is proprietary software, but it's so cool!

iPig was mentioned on the Security Now podcast a while back, when they talked about VPN solutions and stuff.

That looks more like a VPN setup. From what I read, iPig sounds closer to tor then a VPN variant. I could be reading it wrong, but it seems more of a way to have all outbound connections encrypted.
