Dugg. I also quoted what I thought was your best line from the show...

"I would respect the idiot more if he was honest and said I'm being paid off by a telecommunications lobbyist to say this and that why I'm voting on this. I would respect him, at least for being honest."

:D

Thanks, I really do feel that way. I'm right a right winger and I think Sen. Stevens is a total tool. Orin Hatch is a close second. Techies from both sides of the aisle have to come together and unite on the issues that matter the most to us. It's not about being liberal or conservative. It's about doing the right thing for the people. Sh|t like this stiffles innovation and economic growth. It just makes the rich cats more rich. It's not right. The lobbyists need to go! RANT mode off

On the first episode of FLOSS, DiBona says under the GPL you can't charge for software, you can only charge for services related to the software, which is wrong. I'd hoped you guys could ask him about it, but I didn't get around to posting the question before the show.

I'm wondering if it was just a mistake, or if that's his true impression of the GPL.

(Dugg, by the way)

Hey Pat, by the way, this is the first show that I didn't have to squint my ears to make out what you were saying. That new mic is definitely a keeper.

Dugg.

Once upon a time I rooted for Republicans, now I just want there to be one party to control the White House and the other party to control Congress, since that seems to be the only time spending is kept under control. :?

I typically vote Libertarian when I get the chance, even if I don't agree with everything they believe. I'm guessing that most people would hate their views, but hey, they're an interesting lot.

I do enjoy listening to their political debates, and Cato.org has some good podcasts. Usually, you actually get to hear a real debate of ideas from people with very different stances on the topic, which, in my book, beats the vast majority of the (loudly) talking heads on TV any day of the week.

If anyone has any good socialist podcasts, let me know. What I'm really looking for, though, is a Luddite Podcast.
