SMART: future official package manager for Ubuntu

This guy is now a Canonical employee. That along with Shuttleworth's comments make me think it will happen sooner than later:

I've used Smart with Suse 10.1 with very good results. Anyone try it with Mandriva, Fedora or Slackware? I'd like to get some feedback.

I've tried it on Fedora, same good results as on SUSE, certainly took care of YUM's speed issues.
I gave it a go on Slackware too, but since the Slackware repos doesn't provide package dependency information, it's not really that useful.

im using it on mandriva 2007
is nice and give same results as URPMI

very Apt-Getish... I like

But however as for Ubuntu: I don't see anything wrong with Synaptic/Apt. Smart behaves alot like Apt. So why change it?
