Linux on Wireless Extreme on Mac

Post by Jza » Fri Aug 25, 2006 11:45 am

Just wonder if any of you guys know the state of Linux (Ubuntu) on the iBook. I got a friend with an IBook and wanted to switch to linux but told me that he couldnt find any support for the Aiport Extreme. I found some digg stories about tit and comments from people who make it work advicing to first have the softmac and then the broadcom drivers.

I think some people here use the SMP and will have faced those issues, it will be cool if you guys can speak up on this topic.

Sorry I do not have much time to research exactly what I did, but I have the airport extreme working on my powerbook 15". The stock kernel along wth fwcutter works great. I am running dapper drake.

The only things I have not been able to get working are the video out, modem and sound (well sound reliably that is).
