So I have got a new job. Much better then my previous ones. Great people, calm environment, decent enough pay but I am stuck on a Win XP machine
Not even Admin rights so couldnt get VMware or coLinux running, only Cygwin. Since made contacts and got Admin access now and got VMplayer up and running Kubuntu 6.06
But still work off of an MS exchange server for contacts, calendar and email.
How can I use Kontact to hook into the Exchange server ? How in Outlook do I find the settings needed ?
Any help on this appreciated. Perhaps better asking a Windows savy audience but oh well.

Not sure about Kontact, but I know Evolution has an Exchange pluging that allows for connecting to it. Unfortunately it is only the web functionality. It is pretty lame.

I'm not sure that Kontact has that ability, but if you look in Settings --> Configure Kontact..., select "Plugins" in the left pane, there should be a plugin called "Microsoft Exchange 2000 Plugin for KOrganizer".
That is the only Exchange functionality in Kontact that I know of, and if you look here:
http://www.kontact.org/groupwareservers.php
You'll see this:
"Microsoft® Exchange Server™ 2000
These products are most widely used for groupware functionality. They are the two faces of Microsoft's groupware: Exchange 2000 focuses on messaging and SharePoint serves as information sharing portal. With support for these products you can use KDE Kontact in native Windows workgroups.
Status: Support for Exchange is partly implemented in KDE Kontact. If you use it, please bear in mind that it is not supported. If you want to help, please contact the KDE PIM team."
I guess you'll have to use Evolution.

I thought i read/heard that MS Exchange was well supported in Kontact/Korganiser now.
That post reminds me, they do have the web side enabled; I can access mail, contact and calendar info from outside of works intranet.
That should make it easier to make a frontend on a somewhat standard web interface....
