Googling your PC... eyes are watching
Interesting article about a new Google toolbar for your PC (well, I don't know if it's available for Linux yet. To be honest, I'm not sure I'd want it anyway.
I've heard comments and read posts by people here warning that Google is becoming the Microsoft of Internet technology. I'm starting to think it's coming to that.
Google had better watch their step and who they're climbing into bed with.... Seems to me that they're on a very slippery slope.

bad news
this kind of thinking really has to stop. all these companies want to make the internet and the desktop seamless. just ain't gonna happen without giving way to the above statement. In fairness, Google does acknowledge that the tool involves a trade off between functionality and security.
the PC is still the PERSONAL computer - I can find my docs just fine thanks -
I personally think all this search technology stuff is overblown -
