HP with Linux - dropping Microsoft?

Interesting. HP doesn't like Vista either, and are exploring the possibility of building a mass-market operating system. HP's software would be based on Linux;

HP has been flirting with Linux for a long time. Supposedly they offer Debian support for their enterprise customers. It would be nice if they offered a Linux distro as an install option on their consumer products. That would show a major commitment on their part.

Reminds me of "Force ten from Navarone". Seems like not much is happening and then the dam eventually comes down. Microsoft is going down.

That is very interesting if they do support Debian.

This is not some urban legend, this is widely known, see http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press ... 0814a.html and http://linux.slashdot.org/article.pl?si ... /14/174218.

As you can see on the sites it's from 2006, so no it's not interesting, Red Hat still dominates the enterprise space! :lol: :twisted:
