abiword is crap

Post by thetza » Wed Feb 22, 2006 4:19 am

I tried it as an alternative to openoffice, and its garbage; it crashes, its rendering sucks, its controls are clumsy, table drawing blows, etc. I'm going back to typesetting in vi until openoffice finishes compiling (its been 14 hours).

Sorry.

Yeah normally, except I noticed as well that abiword has been awfully buggy lately. Hope they fix it.

Sorry.
I've found Abiword to work just fine. Maybe it's your distro? :D

Personally I've reverted to just writing things in Vim as HTML or just plain text. At least it's cross platform. I've found that I can't even get Abiword and OpenOffice to share file formats. Forget it if you have to work on Windows now and them.
