Novell has a habit of playing with names of thier products. It's annoying trying to keep up with what's happening.
However, I think that this is the right move. With them having a community distro and an enterprise distro, there has to be some way for the end customer to decide on what is the better option for them. Also, when calling for support, they have to be able to figure out what distro the user is calling about. SLED or openSUSE is easier to figure out quickly. The core Suse name remains in both products, so they aren't getting rid of the herritage.
And as someone else mentioned, Red Hat/Fedora had this issue when it was first 'split' and it seems to have worked out for them....

Agreed. Sometimes you have to go with the flow. When even Novell employees are calling it OpenSUSE, it's time to make the change.CptnObvious999 wrote:FINALLY!
